     Explanation of Credit Card & E–check Convenience Fee

Montgomery County is prohibited by law from paying the processing fees incurred when a taxpayer chooses to pay his or her taxes by Credit Card or E–check. In order to provide this convenience Montgomery County has contracted with a third party. The convenience fee covers the cost of this service.
