The Fort Bend County Tax Office is charged with the responsibility of
the collection of taxes, car registration fees, and beer and liquor permits.
This year, current tax collections will fund almost eighty-five percent
of the entire county's budget.
- This includes Maintenance and Operation, Interest and Sinking Fund,
Road and Bridge, and the Drainage District.
- In addition to collecting the County taxes, we also collect taxes
for the cities of Arcola, Beasley, Fulshear, Kendleton, Meadows Place,
Needville, Orchard, Richmond, Rosenberg, Missouri City, Simonton, and Stafford.
- The following school districts and special districts are also collected
by Fort Bend County: Fort Bend ISD, Kendleton ISD, Lamar CISD, Needville ISD, Stafford
MSD, Wharton County Junior College, Houston Community College (Missouri
City and Stafford areas), Fort Bend Parkway Road District #1, Fort Bend
Emergency Services District 3 (previously Fort Bend Rural Fire District
#2), Fort Bend Emergency Services District 4 (previously Fort Bend Rural
Fire District #1), Willow Fork Drainage District, Cinco MUD# 9, Fort
Bend MUD # 41, Fort Bend Fresh Water Supply #1 and #2, Fort Bend WCID
#2, Fort Bend Emergency Service Districts #1 and #2, and Harris/Fort
Bend Emergency Service District #100, and PID # 2 Assessment.
